The list of available marketplace extensions is growing by the day! We should add the ability to group and search extensions.
Advanced filtering by category, type, tags, creation date, etc. would be nice as well.

also keep track of the amount of installs/downloads: i.o.w. "popularity".
Even with a lot of extensions in a category this should give a good view which are the best ones.
Hans
note that on an uninstall this number should decrement.

Noting some feedback via personal email:
"About additional features, I would love to have a search with keywords for available plugins. With the community contributing a lot, it is not very efficient to check one by one the plugins that might seem relative to the function I need to use the analyzer for."

Completely agree! In fact if I was halfway organised I'd have created this idea this a few months ago!
Extension creation date isn't so important - probably only the author knows that or cares. Some sort of tag/type/category system is important though.

"The number of Market Place extensions is increasing and a single long list is a rather unwieldy way to manage them. It would help a lot to be able to group extensions by type at least (HLA, Digital Measurement and Analog Measurement). It would be nice to be able to search by title and perhaps by author.
If extensions had a tags field in their JSON configuration file that allowed tags like 'CSV Export', 'SPI', 'I2C', 'Decode', ... that would provide a powerful way to find an extension for a particular task as part of the search."

"Extension search to help finding a specific one.
This could be very important if the Extension database continues to grow."

"Saleae is great software, with modern gui and great support, but it is very annoying to look for extensions - I can't search by name."
