Auto-center when zooming

One of my few complaints with your software is that when I want to zoom into something, I do my best to center it, then hit '+' a couple of times. Then re-center it, then hit '+' a couple more times. Repeat, repeat, repeat until zoomed in to what you want to look at in detail. It would be great to just have to select the point of interest once, tell the UI to center that, and just keep hitting '+' until you see the thing in detail.
