Help us develop the next-generation software, now in alpha!

Update Saleae Logic more frequent and bugfix releases between

The software Saleae Logic (v1.2.18) is now over 1 year old and
meantime the section 'Troubleshooting' and 'All known issues' are
increasing. I guess the list of 'known issues' is much bigger than
currently on the web, because i reported bugs by myself which are not
on this list.

In the past year i feel not 'Debug happy', it's more like
'let's debug saleae logic software first'. Currently you have planned
52 ideas and i guess you are running into 'a black hole' with your team.
You will never finish all this ideas you have planned.

You have a great product and a great software, but you are loosing
more and more credibility, because
- the time between Saleae Logic updates are too long (1 year now)
- there are no bugfix releases between regular updates
- the number of planned ideas is unrealistic, way to much

My suggestion:
- update Saleae Logic more frequent (e.g. spring and winter)
- bugfix releases of Saleae Logic between regular updates

Thanks for bringing this up, and sorry for giving such a perception.

We are in fact working on a brand new software UI from the ground up. Here is where we are at with it. Not quite ready for production, but we are happy to receive feedback along the way!

Regarding the 'known issues' list, we have stopped using that to keep track of issues. We have begun tracking it internally (most of which will be fixed in the new software UI). Though, we're happy to make sure it's on our radar. Feel free to write in to support to check on any specific bug fixes.

During our time developing the new UI, we will be implementing many of the Planned Ideas here on our ideas site.

Once we get the new UI out to production, the time between Saleae Logic updates will be much more frequent! We're moving over to a javascript based front-end, which will be much easier to manage and update compared to our current UI which is built in QT.

Sorry again for all the confusion, and thanks for your patience during our Alpha development phase of the new software.

By the way, Joe wrote an article that covers most of what we have been up to:

You're not wrong.  This is biggest problem right now, and we're hell bent on solving it.  And you're right, our credibility is on the line.

You can contact me at jagarrison@saleae.com.  Happy to discuss exactly what we're doing to address your points and what I expect the timeline to be.
