Start+ to concatenate new data to existing recording

I'd like to be able to concatenate new data on to an existing recording so I can pause recording (while stopped in a debugger for example), then resume. This could also be achieved by having a pause / resume button.
I don't much care that the time is silly during the paused part of the recording. Showing signal break markers at the paused section would be nice icing.
